Design – They Look Quite Similar, But We Love The Hot Tools Deep Waver Better
Both wavers are quite alike, having a professionally compact design. The Hot Tools deep waver is slightly heavier than the Bed Head waver, but the Hot Tools is actually a bit smaller in dimension, according to the official product specs. However, you won’t feel much difference when you hold them at hand.
Thanks to the plate-locking switch, you can store these wavers effortlessly and conveniently without sacrificing much space. And they both feature a separately on/off switch button to keep your safe.
The Bed Head and Hot Tools both use a dial to let you control the heat, the thing we like about the Hot Tools Deep Waver is that it has the precise degree on the dial so you can add different waves more precisely. If you like to use buttons to control the heat, you can go to our comparison between the Bed Head Wave Artist and the Bed Head A-Wave-We-Go.
Apart from that, the cable length of the Hot Tools is 2 inches longer than the Bed Head Wave Artist, and a waver with a longer cord is more helpful when you need more styling flexibility. As for the color, the purple handle of the Bed Head Wave Artist is not my type so I would turn to the classic black/silver Hot Tools deep waver if I have to make a choice.
Styling Power Comparison – The Hot Tools Deep Waver Is Hotter
Having used many Hot Tools irons and stylers for years, I can say the brand will never let you down when it comes to the power. Regarding the styling ability, the heat performance of the Hot Tools Deep Waver is one of the things Hot Tools does better than Bed Head most of the time.
According to the specs, the maximum heat that the Hot Tools Deep Waver can deliver is 430 degrees while the Bed Head Wave Artist’s highest heat is around 400 degrees. Although it is not always correct to use the highest setting to add waves to your hair, a good thing about wavers with a higher temperature setting is that they can make the waves last longer and the wavy hair can be achieved faster.
Technology – Both of Them Carrys Decent Heat Protection Feature
The Bed Head Wave Artist is currently one of the most popular hair wavers and it is not just because of the cheap price. It features double tourmaline and ceramic technology. The plates made of these materials will have a great thermal conductivity but they will bring less damage to your hair. The tourmaline will boost the negative ions in the air and give your hair a nice barrier.
On the other hand, the Hot Tools Deep Waver is also using ceramic technology. But I feel like their nano-ceramic plates are more advanced than regular waver plates. The nano ceramic plate of the waver provides consistent and reliable heat while styling your hair, and it leaves your hair very smooth and sleek after the waves are done.
Pricing – The Bed Head Wave Artist Deep Waver Is A Bargain
The Hot Tools deep waver is considered a luxury beauty product, and it is much more pricey than the Bed Head Wave Artist. I believe that is another reason why the Bed Head waver is always a top seller online.
As an affordable hair tool, the Bed Head Wave Artist hair waver can get the job done perfectly and you only need to spend 25 dollars. While you have to spend about 3 times the money to get a new Hot Tools deep waver.
Conclusion:
From my perspective, the Bed Head Wave Artist and the Hot Tools are both great. I personally like the Hot Tools better because it comes with a few more advanced details and some friendly features. However, the Bed Head waver is more cost-effective to me, and I would also recommend it for sure if you don’t want to pay more money for a hair waver.
