The Tymo Rota doesn’t look special on the outside, it’s a black and silver curling wand with five adjustable temperature settings from 280 degrees to 430 degrees, and it has light indicators on the handle as well.
One of the curling wand’s greatest strengths is how it curls your hair — you don’t need to roll the wand manually, the barrel of this curling iron can rotate automatically, which creates inner and outer waves efficiently and safely.
For people concerned about the barrel size, here is what I found: If you buy this product from Amazon, then it’s going to be a 1 1/4 inch barrel. However, Tymo provides a 1 1/2 inch barrel version as well on their official website. And both version comes with a fixing clamp.
Auto curling experience
The Tymo Rota is not the first auto curler that I have seen, but it has some differences compared to those existing auto curling tools. The Tymo Rota doesn’t have an auto curling chamber, it just looks like a regular curling wand. So you can clearly see how your hair is curled with the auto-rotating barrel, which is a unique strength of this product.
In terms of the curling process, the Tymo Rota curler heats up pretty fast and you can get it ready in a minute. You don’t need any tutorial to start using this auto curler, it’s simple. All you have to do is put the barrel under a piece of hair, it will start rotating. And the barrel rotates smoothly and nicely, your hair can be beautifully curled in seconds. What is best about this auto curler is that it has a longer barrel than all the auto curling wands that I have seen, which helps it handles long hair effectively too.
However, you still need to be careful with this curler even though it is equipped with titanium coating and an ionic system. It gets hot quickly and you can easily burn your curls with the highest setting. A heat protectant for hair is necessary and vital for using this curling wand.
Price – More pricey than regular auto wands
The Tymo Rota’s retail price is $99 on their site and you can get it at $89 on Amazon. If you search “auto curling wands” on Amazon, you will find all the models are almost around $30 – $50, the Tymo Rota is clearly more expensive than them. But I personally think this curling wand from Tymo is worth the price since it makes creating curling even easier with the traditional barrel. One thing that I’m not pretty sure about is the mechanism, I don’t know if the auto-rotating part will break or malfunction in the future.
