Cloud Nine The Airshot Hair Dryer Review – Honest Verdict

Cloud Nine, a hair tool brand that you might not be familiar with, is actually making very expensive hair dryers, curling wands, and straighteners. As a UK-based company, Cloud Nine is pretty new to us as well, but we are pretty interested in their The Airshot hair dryer series.

Let’s take a look at how many hair dryers Cloud Nine has first. We’ve found there are only two blow dryers on the official website of Cloud Nine. And these two blow dryers are in the same product line called “The Airshot”. Basically, they only sell two blow dryers: a regular The Airshot and an advanced version The Airshot Pro. (However, we found The Airshot Pro is not available on their site and we did not know the reason)

Let’s get to the point, my opinion is that their blow dryers have nice looks, but not very stunning to me. The regular The Airshot blow dryer is compact and low-profile, its curves are more aesthetic and more smooth than those cheap look-alike blow dryers. But other than that, there is nothing that surprises me. It has conventional control buttons on the handle and a cool shot button on the middle, just like hair dryers that you can buy in the supermarket.

The Airshot Pro apparently comes with a more beautiful design. With a slim drying body and a retro-style drying motor cover, the dryer is very lightweight and easy to hold. However, I feel like I have seen it somewhere else. The white and pink combination reminds me of the T3 blow dryers, and the vintage dryer design is utilized in a very old Remington model.

Features & Drying Performance

When it comes to drying power, the Cloud Nine The Airshot hair dryer did great. As shown on their site, the Cloud Nine The Airshot blow dryer comes with a powerful 2000W drying motor, which allows you to dry your hair pretty fast. As a dryer with high wattage, the blow dryer can deal with all kinds of hair including very curly hair and kinky mane.

The Cloud Nine utilizes ceramics and its special Anti-Static Technology to deliver healthy and hot airflow to reduce frizz and static. Regarding drying results, the dryer can make your tresses shinier and smoother compared to cheap dryer models.

The drawback is that this dryer only features three temperature settings and two speed settings. For me, it is not enough for a hair dryer that costs more than 100 Euro.

High-End Hair Dryers Comparison

Cloud Nine The Airshot vs. Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

It is kind of unfair to compare the Cloud Nine The Airshot with the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. First things first, the Dyson Supersonic is way more expensive than the Cloud Nine hair dryer. So it is not surprising that the Dyson Supersonic is leading in many aspects.

The Dyson blow dryer has more flexibility in heat settings and speed settings. And their patented motor technology makes their dryers completely bladeless, which makes the Dyson Supersonic has the one and only unique design. And Dyson’s attachments are all magnetic, this is another attractive factor that people love Dyson.

But we all know the Dyson Supersonic is an extremely pricey product, that is the only game that the Cloud Nine hair dryer wins.

Cloud Nine The Airshot vs. ghd Air Hair Dryer

If you’re looking for a similar hair dryer that will not cost you much more money, then ghd Air blow dryer is the one for you. For less than $200, this ghd hair dryer has a 1600 Watt AC motor and advanced ionic technology, these features make sure you can dry your strands healthily and comfortabily.

Just like the Cloud Nine The Airshot, the ghd Air hair dryer has 2 speeds, 3 heat settings, and a cool shot button that locks in your hairstyle after the blow drying process. The Cloud Nine The Airshot and the ghd Air are pretty similar alternatives, the difference is that the airflow of the ghd Air might be slightly weaker than the Cloud Nine due to the motor’s wattage, and the ghd mild drying technology can leave your hair a bit silkier. However, the ghd hair dryer only has one nozzle in the package while the Cloud Nine has two. (Unlike Dyson Supersonic that has different versions, the ghd hair dryer is only for use in the US and the Cloud Nine The Airshot is for use in the UK)

Can You Buy & Use Cloud Nine Hair Dryers & Straighteners in the U.S?

Well, you will get the package shipped from the UK if you purchase Cloud Nine products on their site.

But there are two problems: Shipping hair dryers & straighteners outside the UK will charge you an extra delivery fee and the shipping time will be longer. And the second problem is that you need a power adapter to get Cloud Nine hair tools working properly in the states.
